A single and continuous gesture defines the spatial distribution and structural logic of the project; emerging at ground level, transitioning into a canopy, and finally anchoring itself back into the earth.
The project responds to the brief of creating an open-air classroom on the Teatinos university campus, taking the letter "S" as its conceptual driver.
The orientation of the structure and the shading it projects, coupled with the canopy of the surrounding trees, shelters the two covered volumes from direct sunlight, allowing for simultaneous use of both spaces. The same atmospheric quality extends to the courtyard, save for the midday hours.
These trees enhance the microclimatic comfort of the scheme, offering a verdant sanctuary within the urban fabric of Teatinos.

Through the primary structure, a workspace is defined, featuring an integrated desk of the same material, alongside a tiered lecture space. Additionally, the sheltered, shaded courtyard allows for alternative programs to unfold.
The project is conceived primarily through elevations to tangibly manifest the premise of the letter "S", far transcending a mere symbolic gesture.

The envelope is executed in white lightweight reinforced concrete, allowing the structure, despite its folds and turns, to appear weightless at just 20 centimetres thick.
The central fold of the structural shell towards the ground helps to mitigate additional structural stress, acting effectively as a column.
